📅 January 20, 2026 marked a historic moment: the first paired kidney transplants were successfully performed in Hungary within the framework of the 🇭🇺 national living donor KEP program.
🏥 The first procedures, carried out at the Clinical Center of the University of Pécs, represent the first implementation of kidney cross-donation in the country.
🚀 The program, launched in June 2024, is a major step forward and a meaningful contribution to the goals of 🌍 EURO-KEP.
🤝✨ This achievement marks a significant step towards improving access, equity, and international cooperation in living donor kidney transplantation.
